City of Vancouver Recruitment
Management Systems a Hit!
An immediate solution was required to track and manage internal and external job
applicant data within the Employment Advisory Section of Human Resource Services in the
City of Vancouver. Due to the planned decentralization of recruitment functions throughout
the various City Business Units, a way of sharing Competition and Applicant information in
numerous physical locations was a must. The current applicant tracking functions were
centralized within City Hall and for the most part were paper based and
A new distributed, Client/Server Recruitment Management system was proposed to satisfy this
urgent business requirement.
Within three months an Axislogic consultant prepared detailed business specifications,
logical and physical data models, and designed and implemented a Windows based Recruitment
Management System. Even though an ERP solution has been implemented within
the COV, this RMS system is still being used to track all internal and external
applicants for posted positions within the City of Vancouver. Within this 90 day period
more than 30 Human Resource professionals were trained to use this system.

Successful H.R.I.S. Projects :
Accommodation Management System
This application was developed for the Human Resource Services
Rehabilitation Department for the City of Vancouver. This system allows this organization
to analyze all of the physical and mental demands of each position in their organization
and match them to employee's who have special needs.
Staff Management System
We were responsible for the Requirements and Design phase of this project for the
Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services Department. This system was designed for
the Windows/NT and SQL-Server environment. Of special interest was the use of
ERWin and MS-Access as a
prototyping tool's for this project!
