This state-of-the-art micro payment smartcard technology ticketing system will support Victorias multi-modal network of 270 railway stations, 480 trams and 1,650 buses that services more than 410 million journeys each year. From January 2008, Melbourne city will be moving on Smart Card System. The New The solution design is an innovative departure from the traditional model for transit ticketing systems. The new ticketing system will combine proven, off-the-shelf software (approximately 70 percent) with custom development (approximately 30 percent) in an industry-standard open architecture. The new system will take advantage of the rich functionality of commercial, plug-and-play applications such as the Microsoft AXAPTA Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application, and web services technologies such as .NET. The system is built with a services-oriented architecture and open standards and it will have the flexibility to expand the solution in the future. Ticketing system will replace the existing Magnetic card system in all the public transport. The State of Victorias Transport authorities have decided to run the new system through a partnership with KAMCO (Keane Australia Micro payment Consortium) which is a statutory body founded to develop and run the system. During upgrade process, all the development done in Axapta 2.5 VAR Layer was migrated to Axapta 3.0 SP3. That includes managing the deleted objects, Modified objects, new objects (Tables, Classes, Forms and Reports) from Axapta 2.5 to Axapta 3.0, porting the relevant development at right place in Axapta 3.0, and finally all the data of Axapta 2.5 SP3 was migrated to Axapta 3.0 SP3 by managing all the structural changes in the Tables, Views and Maps. Apart from upgrade Process, client requirement was to do modification in standard Axapta web portal functionality based on web user. Some major Issues were modification in quick entry and sales basket, Product catalogue, web registration of customer and customer creation process, user based access of some new web forms made as per client specification, enhancement in Web search process, etc. Implementation requirement had also included customization in standard Axapta AR, AP, Inventory and CRM module. As per implementation requirement mainly customization was done in AR, AP and inventory module of Axapta. Major customization was done for modification in functionality of Inter-company Trading, Sales, Purchase, Inventory and Production modules with the functionality of Inter-company. Some major Issues are Inter company automatic posting of orders while posting of attached orders ,Creation and Copy of the Item Process, Creation of new version of Item, Inter company On hand, application of maximum total discount in tariffs, modification in Product Builders functionality, planning of delivery and item collection control, etc. Apart Another significant customization was for mapping their sales and purchase process. As per their business process, some predefined percentage of each sales and purchase order was taxable. According to business process mapping percentage setup part was added in customer and vendor group. Both sales and purchase order line get split into two parts according to setup defined on customer or vendor group. During posting, one part was posted with tax and other was without tax with other number sequence.
